KEIRBY PRODUCT DATA SHEET
Webbing & Ladder Tapes
Ceramic fibre woven webbing and ladder tapes are manufactured from high performance ceramic fibre yarns reinforced with either a wire or glass filament. Ceramic fibre yarns are produced on traditional textile machinery by carding high purity 1260°C grade ceramic fibres with a percentage of cellulose fibre to assist int he processing. The yarns are then spun and combined with the relevant reinforcing media to improve the tensile strength at extended temperatures. The organic content will burn off at temperatures above 200°C without affecting the properties of the ceramic fibre however adequate ventilation should be provided during this initial heating. Where tensile strength is important the temperature limitations of the reinforcing media should be considered.
Ceramic fibres are resistant to oils, solvents and most chemicals and although contact with phosphoric, hydrofluoric acids and strong alkalis should be avoided.
Are non combustible.
Are suitable for use at temperatures up to 1260°C dependant on application.
Temp Limitations: >E= glass filament suitable for temperatures up to 550°C.
Nickel chrome alloy wire suitable for temperatures up to 1091°C.
|Alumino-Silicate 80%||Al2O3 46%|
|Cellulose 20%||Tolerance +/-5%|
Typical Application: Ductwork flange gasketting, furnace / boiler door seal, cable and pipe protection.
